The day set out sunny Myself Sandra Rimmer and Carol Metcalf were both interviewd live by Radio Lancashire and then the business of the day started.Junior section on in the morning all teams arrived and play got under way. The results are as above.
In the afternoon the Mixed and Ladies Open started some teams played in both , but I think with hindsight they found this rather exhausting. So we had a short unscheduled break. Next Year to enable teams to enter both I will not do a round robin system.but play offs from 2 sections that will then give more breaks.Once again results above
During the day we had a BBQ a Bar a Raffle and refreshments all in aid of the Christie Hospital, .
My thanks go to the helpers on the day Stacy Valentine our 1st Aider [ thanks for sorting out our 1st aid box] she also sold refreshments during the day ,to Sue Gray who took over from Stacy thank you. Thanks to Ruth Watson for sorting out the Raffle. Lets not forget Car park attendant John and Fred who sold raffle tickets, to Len thank you for putting up the bunting and sorting out many other problems before the actual day. We had The local paper arrive and take action shots during the day . Will notify day of insertion in paper and which paper they are in.
"Carol once again I think Leyland must thank you for setting up this netball league 40 years ago and for all the hard work you have put in on their behalf over the years, without your unseen efforts we would not have the complex that we have today, or the plans that we have for the future"
